Day 22 Update

Today is Monday. A day that we are fasting, so lots and lots of water or herbal tea only until dinner. We had a carb-day yesterday, and I did really good not over doing it. I had 2 pieces of fruit throughout the day (grapefruit and ... grapefruit :-), for lunch I had baked bell pepper with ground organic turkey breast, and then about a 1/2 of a sweet potato, a baby bok choy and an organic chicken breast at dinner time.

Here's how I weighed in and measured today
Weight: 150.5 lbs (-12.5 from the starting weight)
Chest = 38.75" (-2.25)
Waist = 32.5" (-2.5)
Hips 40.5 (1.5)
Thigh 22.75 (-1.75)
Calf 13.75 (-.75)
Arm12 (-1)

The scales are CREAKING and SCRAPING just trying to hold on to 150+ but hopefully by Thursday this week the 150's will be behind me. I remember being 152 in 2005, I also remember being 144 in 2000. I remember this because I had to turn in my weight for snow skiing and one of my friends was around 124 and I was mortified that I was 20 lbs heavier! She called herself a skinny fat girl, though. I just called myself a fat girl. And I wasn't that fat really... When I get under 150 that means when I get on one of those big scales at the doctors office, I get to go one big metal chunky thing to the left - but the little metal chunk that you move over will be all the way towards the right and I'll have to keep that down :-) That reminds me... off to exercise. Gonna take the mutt out for a nice long walk / jog then rev up on some meltdown.

Day 21 - Keep swimming

Today i have to just tell myself to Keep Swimming. I'm not having a good day, so i really need to turn some things around. I have some very important work I have to accomplish before my wedding. I'm scared too because I waited too long. I think I am going to throw myself into some cleaning for the day. It's all I can do. Keep swimming Lisa Jean, keep swimming swimming swimming.....

Day 19 I Just Feel Better

Today is Friday day 19 of the Dax Moy 30 in 30 program. I'm about 10.5 lbs under where I started several inches gone (yay). And I just FEEL Better. Here's proof ! I took some pictures of my face when we started this whole thing (and actually a little mortified about posting these because the before pics are not complimentary at ALL) and when you look at the pics I took on 7/7, you can tell how much better I feel. Clearly, I wasn't wanting to take the day 1 pictures, but the mid-way picture I'm much more confident. Interesting....

It's a little hard to see in these pictures 'cuz they're small, but my cheeks and jawline are much better defined now. Chin area looks better too.


We had a "fast" day yesterday and it went well. I started getting really hungry around 3:30, but held out for the dinner around 7:30pm. Today back to low carbs & I really like the low carb days. I feel the most energy on these days and I'm starting to feel how my body is responding to the food intake. Oh well, gotta run for now and take shower #2 for the day :-)

Day 17 Update and half-way pictures

Ooops, I forgot to post yesterday :-) Guess I was pretty busy. Well, I decided I had to do this for my self motivation. I took pictures of mid-way thru the program. Now, please understand that I doubt that I would ever go in public in a bikini. (rethinking: I guess when I do have the right body, then heck why not). So, here are some before-mid pictures of me in a two-piece. Can't call this a bikini because the bottoms are too big. I tried to get the pictures side-by-side and at the same exact picture size so you can see the difference. Interesting from the back side, how much different the straps look and the bottoms too. It almost looks like I've become much Taller. Sorry about the bottom right picture. For some reason I could not get a clear picture ! Frustrating, I hope my camera is not blinking out....


Today I weighed in at 152.5, so I've made the > 10 lbs loss. My waist is under 33" too, but as you can see in these pictures there are still a lot of "rolls" that need to go away. Which reminds me, time for my morning workout !!

Day 15 ~ Monday 1/2 Way

Well it's Monday on Day 15 of the Dax Moy 30lbs in 30 days program. Today is an official weigh in and measure day. Of course, Monkey doesn't really like to get her measurements. I don't mind doing mine and they turned out to be pretty good.

Weight 154lbs (-9 from start)

Hips 41" (-1)
Thigh 23.5" (-1)

We're in the midst of a carb cycle again, so no carbs today. I had a very yummy lunch of fish with a homemade - healthy curry sauce and loads of vegetables. Hard to believe this is really a diet when the food is so good. Well, on to do my workout(s) for the evening ! arg :-)

Day 14 weekends over

Probably a perfect day today as far as the Dax Moy 30 in 30 guinnea pig adventure. Ate with no carbs today and performed all 3 workouts with high intensity and perfectly spaced out. It was nice because todays workouts are the toughest for me! So, I just did it. This morning I felt sooooooooo, what they say in the UK, knackered! I wasn't sure exactly what that feels like until today. I was even wondering why i would feel so completely exhausted after the AM workout! But as the day went on, I started getting my energy back and forgot all about it. I wonder if the carbs from the day before make me feel that way, or if Im not quite fueled up in the morning of day 4 of the cycle and it takes time. I'll have to ponder that.

Day 13 update

Not much to say on today. It's the 4th of July here in the States and I actually didn't have any junk food or beer. Today was a carb day, so I had some homemade beans this morning with my eggs. We also had some shrimp curry for dinner. I felt rather exhausted in the evening but part of that is because it is stinkin' HOT here. 99 - 100' F with a heat index of 110'. Did all my exercises for the day, then went to sleep by 10:30pm. Alls good.

Day 13 W/O and Densities

Workout #1 Meltdown ~ 9:00am. Really melted down in the 3rd circuit today. Completely exhausted, i had to rest thru 1 spiderman and 1 step thru so numbers a little down today.

Workout #2 ICP ~ 3:30pm (so far so good!) I reset and up'd my reps. Times: 2:50 / 2:53 / 2:45

Day 12 update

Day 12 went good. Third day w/out carbs. New workout with Dax Moy called the DB matrix that is different, slow, and good!

Not much happened today except I was a TOTAL grump after my oncall work this morning and felt like I had a big mood swing downward. This was the first day I would have loved to shoot back some tequila to change my mood, but I stuck with water. We celebrated my step-dads 75th birthday and while our gang drank margaritas ~ I had sparkling water with a lime. (OK i know the sparkling water was not a good choice for elimination, but I had an attitude and figured it was much better than tequila !!!) I did have some yummy grilled fish and fresh veggies for dinner. Watched the gang eat brownies w/ice cream, key lime pies and little shot glasses with desserts in them while they drank this great smelling coffee.

I did get many comments from my mom about my thinner look and she even said she was going to stop drinking and exercise to lose some weight. THIS is why I'm doing all this !!!! I remember now!

Day 11 meltdown madness

I am completely living this 30 in 30 program by Dax Moy ! Seems like it consumes almost everything i do and has me very occupied in following it. This is good. So, hehehe, I accidentally wrote down my workout wrong and I did today's workout yesterday. SO ~ I just switched it and did yesterday's workout today! And regardless, this is exactly what it feels like after the meltdown ~ no matter what day you do it!

Last night when I went to bed, my quads were so sore! I thought I wasn't going to be able to sleep. But I was able to fall asleep and sleep all thru the night (until I got a silly page at 4:12am that made no sense whatsoever).

So I read through Dax's elmination diet again, just to make sure I'm following good. My weight is down but not quite tracking for the 30 (no fears). So I read in there about eating red onion during the beginning of the elimination. Tonight at work, I see red onion in the cafe, so I got this genius idea and snacked on several slices of it. Good at the time. Now I could really use a piece of mint gum. Feel awful for those who are asking me questions tonight :-)

Day 10 rumping down the stairs

I am having so much fun on this 30 day adventure with Dax Moy and you believe that ? If you haven't seen my day 9 video, check out the size of that rump going down the stairs :)

Orlando said he's going to take video of MY rump going down the stairs. Hardy har har! (You know they do say a dog is the reflection of its owner) Let's wait till after the 3o days for that video.

So much junk food at work lately. Get a load of this cookie ! I went ahead and smelled the darn thing. It is a little bit tempting :)
